One of the first things that need to be done to plan for an emergency is to recognize the hazards.
-
Dry conditions. Currently the area is below the normal rainfall to date.
-
North winds that are strong, hot and low in humidity.
-
Narrow streets and roads. The roads and streets in the Hardwood Subdivision and the Country Fair Estates are narrow and curbside parking can make the situation worst.
-
Abundunce of dry "fuel" in the area.
-
Historically the summer months in Yolo County are dry and the time from August to October is the worst for fire danger.
